Trap is a shotgun game in which the clay targets are thrown away from the shooter at varying angles, mimicking game birds fleeing a hunter. Trap requires fast reflexes, good aim, and good timing to hit the targets. Trap is typically shot at the “16 yard” line at single targets that leave the trap at random angles, but variations include longer distances out to 27 yards and “doubles” targets that leave the trap two at a time at fixed angles.
